Student Orientation

Getting Started with the ST4 Project

(Please note that this orientation was created specifically for ST4 Student

Leaders, but all are welcome!)

Welcome to the ST4STEM Project, an opportunity for Arizona Career and Technical
Education teachers and their students!

Do you think your teacher is a bit outdated with technology? A little old school? Guess what,
they’re not! How is that possible, you ask? It’s because they have been playing 3D
GameLab and they want your help to make learning fun for the whole class!

Participating in this project will provide exciting opportunities for you to help your teacher
discover what technology tools and applications you and your friends are using for learning
(or for fun!), and work together to create interesting activities for the rest of your class.
You will also take a leadership role and help your teacher when teaching the activity
to the other students.

This orientation will provide you an introduction to the Project, explain what you get and
what you have to do, and get you started in 3D GameLab. In GameLab, you will learn how
to use some basic, fun tools and how you can help your teacher, and your class!

What you will receive:
  • Training in 3D GameLab
  • Training in information communication technologies
  • A stipend
  • An introduction to different careers
  • An opportunity to help make learning fun and exciting for your class using a
    game-based platform

What you will do:
  • Help collect information and data from your classmates
  • Collaborate with your teacher to develop an exciting design-based learning lab
  • Help your teacher with instruction

For more information about this project visit here, or contact us at st4stem@gmail.com.
The Student and Teacher Technology Transformation Teams (ST4) Project is a National

How does it work?

Confused and need help? Have no fear. Simply ask your teacher for help.

Activity #1: Confirming your 3DGameLab Account

Step 1: After you have been accepted into the ST4 Project, your teacher will set up your 3DGameLab account using the Gamertag you provided. Your teacher will let you know when
your account is ready for use.

Step 2:Ask your parents to look for an email from admin@3dgamelab.org. They will
need to read this email and Confirm Permission before you can continue in
3DGameLab.

If your parents deleted the email or didn't get it, ask your teacher to re-send the email through their 3DGameLab account.

Step 3: Once your parents have Confirmed Permission, you can move on to the next step
and learn more about using 3DGameLab. Please be aware the recommended browser for 3DGameLab is Firefox.

Now that your account has Confirmed Permission you can move on to the next step!

Activity #2: Joining the ST4STEM Group

Step 1: Go to http://portal.3dgamelab.org and login with your Gamertag and Password.

Step 2: Look for the name of your class in the upper left corner, right under the 3DGameLab
icon. Click on the drop down arrow and then click "All Groups"

If you don't see the "All Groups" option, it's because your parent needs to Confirm Permissions. Return to Activity #1 and have your parent Confirm Permission.
